Eleanor Holmes Pelcher, affectionately known as 'Ellie', passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, in Rochester, NY. She was a beloved member of the community, known for her involvement in various local organizations. Ellie was predeceased by her husbands,
Edmund 'Tom' Holmes and Kenneth 'Ken' Pelcher, and is survived by her son Brian Holmes, his family, and several stepchildren and grandchildren. She was an alumna of State College High School, Lock Haven University, and Nazareth College. Her community involvement included membership in Saint Kateri Parish, the Irondequoit Art Club, George Eastman House, Rochester Museum of Science Women’s Council, and the Memorial Art Gallery. A celebration of her life and an inurnment ceremony at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery are planned for later this year.
