Barlow will now advance to the November 3 general election, where he will face Democrat Kenneth Casner, who ran unopposed, and Constitution Party nominee Rebecca Bextel. Barlow led his fellow Republicans with 44.4% of the votes as of 9:03 p.m. The results are considered unofficial until certified by county and state canvassing boards. Barlow has served in the state Legislature since 2013, including a tenure as Speaker of the House before joining the Senate. He is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, veterinarian, and Gillette native.
