What's Happening?
Neil Haggath, a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and a seasoned amateur astronomer, is set to present a collection of unusual stories from the history of astronomy at the Hybris Event. The event, scheduled for November 20, 2025, will be held both
in-person and online. Haggath, who has been involved in astronomy since the early days of the Space Race, will share tales such as 'The Planet That Wasn't' and 'The Unluckiest Astronomer Who Ever Lived.' His background includes a degree in Physics with Astrophysics from the University of Leeds and a career as a software engineer. Haggath's lifelong passion for spaceflight and astronomy has led him to become a prominent figure in the Cleveland and Darlington Astronomical Society.
