St. Francis House in Sioux Falls has launched a $10 million capital campaign to build the Healing Home Campus, aimed at expanding transitional housing and support services. The new facility will feature over three dozen affordable one-bedroom apartments
and spaces for multiple agencies. This initiative addresses the growing need for affordable housing, particularly for elderly homeless individuals and those aging out of the foster care system. The campaign also seeks to enhance programming, including job training and financial literacy, to support individuals transitioning from homelessness.

The organization has also applied for $6 million in grants for affordable housing, with responses expected later this year. If successful, the groundbreaking for the new facility is anticipated in spring 2027, marking a significant step forward in addressing homelessness in the region.
