PMET Resources, a company listed on the TSX and ASX, has finalized a feasibility study for its Shaakichiuwaanaan lithium project located in Quebec's Eeyou Istchee James Bay region. The study outlines a maiden
probable mineral reserve of 84.3 million tonnes with a lithium carbonate grade of 1.26%, translating to 2.62 million tonnes of lithium carbonate. This study is a crucial component of PMET's environmental and social impact assessment submission, which is necessary for obtaining final mine authorization in Quebec. The project is designed to be a large-scale, long-life spodumene operation, capable of producing up to 800,000 tonnes per year of SC5.5 concentrate over a 20-year mine life. The operation will utilize low-strip open-pit mining combined with higher-grade underground operations, and will employ dense media separation-only processing, which eliminates the need for flotation and chemical reagents.
