What's Happening?
Prince George’s County has introduced a significant youth workforce program, described as the largest investment of its kind by a single council district. The initiative aims to connect approximately 500 young people, aged 15 to 24, with paid positions
and career development opportunities in fields such as healthcare, technology, and skilled trades. The program addresses the loss of seasonal jobs following the closure of Six Flags America and aims to provide long-term career pathways rather than short-term employment. Over 550 applications have been received, with 120 participants already in training and 79 securing jobs.
