What's Happening?
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has introduced an online course titled the “Reserve and National Guard (RNG) Military Life Cycle (MLC) module.” This new module is designed to educate current and former members of the reserve and National Guard,
along with their families, about the specific eligibility rules and available VA benefits. Unlike active-duty personnel, reservists and National Guard members have different criteria for accessing VA services. The online format allows individuals to access the information at their convenience, regardless of their current service stage, whether they are drilling, activating, deploying, returning home, or planning for the future. The course is part of the VA Transition Assistance Program but is not limited to those separating from service.

This initiative is crucial for ensuring that approximately 1.2 million reserve component members and nearly 1 million reserve service family members understand their entitlements.
