What's Happening?
BermudAir has launched its AnguillAir sub-brand, initiating flights between Anguilla's Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport and Boston Logan International Airport. The airline plans to expand with additional
routes to Newark and Baltimore. This expansion aims to address seasonal travel fluctuations in Bermuda by tapping into the counter-seasonal market of Anguilla. The new service coincides with the opening of Anguilla's new passenger terminal, enhancing the island's infrastructure. AnguillAir will operate these routes using BermudAir's Embraer E175 and E190 aircraft, configured in two-class layouts.
Why It's Important?
The launch of AnguillAir-branded flights represents a strategic move to boost tourism and economic activity in Anguilla by improving air connectivity with the U.S. This initiative is expected to attract more visitors, supporting local businesses and the hospitality sector. The new terminal and expanded flight services are part of Anguilla's broader economic development plan, which includes infrastructure improvements to accommodate larger aircraft and increased passenger volumes. For BermudAir, this expansion diversifies its route offerings and mitigates the impact of seasonal demand fluctuations, potentially increasing its market presence in the Caribbean.
