The U.S. Space Force's Space Systems Command has awarded a $1.9 million contract to ExLabs, a Southern California startup, for the development of a reconfigurable spacecraft platform known as SERVSAM. This initiative is part of the Direct-to-Phase 2 Small Business Innovation Research contract. SERVSAM, a heavy-class spacecraft, is designed for flexible mission profiles across all orbital regimes and is built on ExLabs' modular Space Exploration and Resource Vehicle (SERV) architecture.
