The Shalibanda police have arrested Mohammed Bilal, a self-styled YouTube reporter, on charges of extortion. Bilal allegedly demanded Rs 35,000 from a party, claiming he could manage their police case
and prevent their arrest. He reportedly threatened the complainant with arrest if the money was not paid. The arrest was made based on evidence collected by the police. DCP South Zone, Kiran Khare, stated that some individuals posing as reporters are engaging in illegal activities such as case settlement and extortion. The DCP emphasized that such activities will not be tolerated and assured strict legal action against those involved.
