A 59-year-old man from Keystone died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound following a traffic stop in Glenwood Springs. The incident occurred when a Garfield County sheriff's deputy conducted a routine traffic stop. After returning to his patrol
vehicle to write a summons, the deputy heard a gunshot and found the man deceased. The Garfield County Coroner's Office is investigating the death as a suicide. The man's identity has not been released to protect the family's privacy.
