The Homewood Science Center, led by Executive Director Edie Dobrez, reported a successful year in 2025, serving thousands of families and students. Dobrez presented the annual update to the Homewood Village Board, highlighting the center's mission to provide
STEM education opportunities to children of all backgrounds. In 2025, the center hosted 3,979 family members for STEM Saturdays and organized field trips for 5,422 students from 27 school districts, with a significant portion coming from low-income and minority households. The center also ran summer camps for 114 students, focusing on STEAM education, with many participants expressing interest in pursuing STEAM careers.
