John Matthew Baumann, a resident of Chicago and Northfield, passed away on May 28, 2026, at the age of 38 after battling pancreatobiliary cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones at the time of his passing. Baumann is remembered for his athletic achievements
as a high school All American lacrosse player and his participation in Division 1 collegiate lacrosse at the University of Denver and Hobart College. He is survived by his mother, Marian Moran Baumann, and siblings Michael, Daniel, and Elizabeth, as well as his niece and nephew. A celebration of life ceremony is planned for later this summer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Clay Path Academy, a therapeutic day school for children with special needs.
