Colorado has launched a new technology aimed at improving the verification of digital IDs, which are part of the myColorado app. This initiative includes a 'Live View' feature that displays a pulsating green dot with current date and time stamps, ensuring
the ID's validity. The technology allows businesses and government agencies to scan a QR code on the digital ID to confirm its authenticity. This development is part of a broader effort to prevent fraud and the use of counterfeit IDs, thereby building trust in digital identity systems. Currently, 1.8 million residents in Colorado use the myColorado app, with 600,000 logging in monthly. The state is among 11 others with fully implemented digital ID programs, while several more are in the pilot or planning stages.
