What's Happening?
Antioch University, through its Office for Inclusive Excellence and Student Affairs (OIESA) and Inclusion Task Force, has actively integrated Juneteenth and Pride celebrations into its institutional framework. These initiatives are designed to honor Black
history, freedom, and the ongoing pursuit of racial justice, as well as to celebrate LGBTQIA+ identities and foster solidarity. Juneteenth programming created dedicated spaces for reflection and community engagement, while a Virtual Pride Walk offered an accessible way for the university's geographically dispersed community to participate. These events are part of a broader effort to translate Antioch's historical commitment to social justice into contemporary action, as stated by Stephanie Helms Pickett, EdD, Vice President for Inclusive Excellence & Student Affairs.
