HeliOperations, a UK-based company, has showcased a Westland Sea King helicopter equipped with effectors at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026. The Sea King is armed with two AGM-114 Hellfire air-to-surface missiles and three 'drone killer' unmanned
aerial vehicles. This display is part of HeliOperations' strategy to offer cost-effective solutions for arming legacy helicopters, providing 80% of the capability of an Apache attack helicopter at 20% of the cost. The company has already secured interest from at least one customer, with the potential for operational deployment within 20 to 24 months.
