What's Happening?
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has announced that its live pay-per-view events will be streamed on HBO Max, starting with 'All Out' on September 20, 2025. The event will originate from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada. AEW PPVs will continue to be available for purchase on other platforms, including Amazon Prime Video. HBO Max will stream AEW PPV events without ads, with all marketing and promotions centered on HBO Max. Preorders for AEW All Out will launch on September 5, with U.S.-based HBO Max subscribers able to purchase the PPV for $39.99.
Why It's Important?
This partnership between AEW and HBO Max marks a significant expansion in the distribution of AEW content, potentially increasing its reach and accessibility to a broader audience. By streaming live events on HBO Max, AEW can leverage the platform's extensive subscriber base, enhancing its visibility and engagement with fans. This move also reflects the growing trend of sports and entertainment content migrating to streaming platforms, which is reshaping the industry landscape.
What's Next?
AEW's new deal with Warner Bros. Discovery allows AEW programming to stream live on HBO Max simultaneously for U.S. subscribers and to stream on-demand. AEW's main shows, 'Dynamite' and 'Collision,' will continue to air on TBS and TNT respectively. This strategic partnership is expected to drive subscriber growth for HBO Max and increase AEW's market presence.
