What's Happening?
A multinational project led by Added Value Solutions (AVS)-UK and the University of Glasgow has received a £410,000 grant from the UK Space Agency (UKSA) to develop technology for extracting oxygen from lunar soil. The project, named OXYGEN, aims to support
future Artemis Moon missions by reducing the need to transport air and fuel from Earth. The initiative involves using 'lunar-like materials' to practice oxygen production and developing systems for sample collection and transfer. The project builds on previous work by the European Space Agency and other partners in extracting oxygen from simulated Moon dust.
