The InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) has announced the appointment of Dr. Antonella di Trapani as its new Coordinator, effective September 1, 2026. Dr. di Trapani brings a diverse background in science, international policy, and diplomacy to her new role
at the IAP Trieste Secretariat. Most recently, she served as a Senior Research Fellow at the United Nations University (UNU) in Paris, where her work focused on science diplomacy, digital technologies, and global governance for sustainable development. Her prior experience includes positions and assignments with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the G20, and the European Commission, where she engaged in research, policy development, and international cooperation. Her expertise spans science and technology diplomacy, the climate-energy-nuclear-security nexus, and the implications of emerging technologies for peace, security, and the Sustainable Development Goals. She has also advised the European Commission on science diplomacy and digital technologies and contributes to initiatives addressing the STEM-digital career gap and anticipatory governance in quantum technology.
