psychology test designed to assess attention and mental control. The task involves identifying the color of ink in which a word is printed, while ignoring the word itself. Although AI systems initially performed well on short lists of color words, their accuracy significantly declined as the lists grew longer. For instance, GPT-4o's accuracy dropped from 91% with five words to just 15% with 40 words. This decline suggests that AI systems struggle to maintain focus and suppress automatic responses over extended periods, unlike humans who generally maintain high accuracy despite the task's length.
