What's Happening?
Med Marine, a leading Turkish shipbuilder, has launched the MED-A2800SD tug, the third vessel in the six-unit RAmparts 2800 series ASD fleet for Tunisia's port authority, OMMP. The launch took place at Med Marine's Eregli Shipyard, marking significant progress in the fleet project. The tug, designed by Robert Allan Ltd., measures 28.20 meters in length and delivers a bollard pull of 60 tonnes. It is powered by twin medium-speed diesel engines and complies with Class FIFI-E standards. The vessel is optimized for maneuverability, stability, and fuel efficiency, capable of performing operations such as towing, mooring, escorting, firefighting, pollution control, and coastal support.
