Thatcham Town Council Plans New Community Hub to Enhance Local Facilities

What's Happening?

Thatcham Town Council, supported by West Berkshire Council, is advancing plans to develop a new community hub in the Brownsfield Road and Memorial Fields area. This initiative, identified in the 2023 Thatcham Town Centre Strategy study, aims to create a destination featuring sports facilities, creative and entertainment spaces, and improved access to the town center. The project is backed by funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and the Thames Valley Local Enterprise Partnership, totaling £795,000. Consultants Adams & Sutherland are tasked with designing the hub, which will integrate culture, history, health, and sustainability. The council plans to finalize a preferred option by March 2026, after which efforts will focus on securing additional funding.
