The study categorized individuals as 'regular' or 'irregular' sleepers based on variations in sleep duration and bedtime. An 'irregular' sleeper was defined as someone whose sleep duration varied by 90 minutes or more, and whose sleep midpoint (the time halfway between falling asleep and waking up) varied by 60 minutes or more. The findings indicate that individuals who consistently maintain a regular sleep schedule have a 46% lower risk of developing high blood pressure compared to those with irregular sleep patterns. This group also experienced approximately 40 minutes less time awake during the night.
