Q-KON, an African satellite communications provider, has entered into a strategic partnership with China's Guodian Gaoke and StarWin to enhance low Earth orbit (LEO) Internet of Things (IoT) services in South Africa. This collaboration aims to leverage
the Tianqi LEO satellite constellation to provide next-generation IoT solutions. Q-KON will act as the authorized service provider, utilizing its local expertise and distribution network. Guodian Gaoke will supply the satellite systems, while StarWin will provide ground terminals compliant with South African standards. This initiative is expected to improve connectivity in remote and underserved regions, supporting various sectors such as mining, transport, and agriculture.
