Katherine 'Kathy' Lois Reaves, a resident of Timberlake, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at the age of 73 on July 30, 2026. Born on April 21, 1953, Kathy was the daughter of John Owen Howerton and Margret Lois Howerton. She was preceded in death
by her husband, Willie Banks Reaves, and is survived by her children, Allen Reaves and Jackie Simpson, along with their families. Kathy was a devoted member of Timberlake Baptist Church and later Grace Chapel, where she formed lifelong friendships. Her career included positions at IVAC, Duke University, and Person Memorial Hospital. After retiring, she enjoyed gardening and running a roadside vegetable stand, becoming a beloved figure in her community. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for August 8, 2026, at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services.
