Governor Mike Braun of Indiana visited Indiana University Southeast in New Albany to emphasize the importance of partnerships between educational institutions and employers in preparing students for high-demand careers. During his visit, Braun discussed
the university's collaborations with major healthcare providers such as Baptist Health, Norton Healthcare, and UofL Health. These partnerships are part of a five-year initiative to enhance the workforce pipeline in Indiana, particularly through the Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science program. This program includes over 500 hours of clinical training through hospital internships, providing students with practical experience. Additionally, IU Southeast is restructuring its academic framework, transitioning from six schools to three colleges to better align with regional workforce needs.
