What's Happening?
Escapade, a hospitality brand known for its design-led residences and clubhouses, has announced plans to develop a new signature hotel and residences at the Spa-Francorchamps racetrack in Belgium. The project, scheduled to open in 2028, will include a 68-bedroom
hotel and six standalone residences with 23 additional bedrooms. The development aims to enhance the circuit's appeal beyond race weekends by offering high-end accommodation, a trackside restaurant, wellness facilities, and flexible event spaces. The design by Gensler will incorporate local materials and restore historic buildings on the site, aligning with the natural setting of the Ardennes Forest.
Why It's Important?
The new development at Spa-Francorchamps is expected to significantly boost the local economy of the Wallonia region by creating permanent jobs in hospitality, operations, and events. It will also generate year-round demand for local suppliers and service providers. By transforming the circuit into a year-round destination, the project supports the long-term ambitions of Spa-Francorchamps and reinforces its position on the global motorsport calendar. The hotel will cater to international visitors, enhancing the region's tourism appeal and economic vitality.
What's Next?
With Formula 1 committed to racing at Spa-Francorchamps until at least 2031, the new hotel will operate year-round, supporting various events beyond the Grand Prix. These include driver training, corporate events, and wellness retreats. The development will also host cycling, running, and endurance events during the off-season, further diversifying the circuit's offerings and attracting a broader audience.
