The Ecuadorian Air Force has inducted a Boeing 737-500 aircraft into service, identified by the registration FAE-640. The aircraft was acquired for approximately USD6 million and was previously in storage in the United States after serving with various
airlines. The induction ceremony took place at the Simón Bolívar Air Base, attended by Acting President María José Pinto and other officials. The aircraft underwent extensive testing and modifications, including structural inspections and airworthiness certification, before its official entry into service.
