New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced a significant seizure of more than 28,000 pounds of illegal vapor products in Nassau and Orange counties. This operation followed a three-month investigation targeting Ecto World, a Buffalo-area distributor also
known as Demand Vape. The investigation revealed that the company was illegally distributing large quantities of vape products to sub-distributors and unlicensed retail shops across New York State. The largest shipments were intercepted in Long Island and Orange County, with law enforcement seizing 25 pallets and over 570 boxes of illicit products in Nassau County, and an additional 2,761 pounds in Orange County. The operation was conducted with the support of local police departments and health departments. Criminal charges against Ecto World and its owner are being pursued by the district attorneys of Nassau and Orange counties.
