What's Happening?
The US Army has awarded a contract worth $11.2 million to Teledyne FLIR Defense for over 45 uncrewed aerial system (UAS) kits designed for chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threat detection. These kits, part of the Chemical, Biological,
Radiological, and Nuclear Sensor Integration on Robotic Platforms (CSIRP) program, are set for delivery starting in the second quarter of 2026. The R80D SkyRaider drones, equipped with modular sensor payloads, will enhance the Army's ability to detect and map CBRN hazards autonomously, minimizing the risk to soldiers.
