Robert L. Stocker, known as Bob, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 11, 2025, at the age of 98. He was surrounded by his family, including his wife of 69 years, Nancy, and his children, Sharon
and Michael. Bob lived a full life across various locations including Western Springs, Illinois; Gaylord, Michigan; and Key Largo and Vero Beach, Florida. He was the third son of Horace Edwin and Berta Herzog Stocker and was raised in Western Springs, Illinois. After high school, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and later attended Denison University, where he met his wife, Nancy. Bob joined the family business, Stocker Hinge Manufacturing Company, and was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Western Springs. He was passionate about boating, winning many races with his boats Velero and Hilaria, and was a member of the Chicago and Ocean Reef Yacht Clubs. Bob also served in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary for several decades.

Stocker's life are scheduled to take place at the Oak Harbor Club in Vero Beach, Florida, on January 16, and at the First Congregational Church of Western Springs, Illinois, on April 18. These gatherings will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and community members to honor his memory and reflect on his contributions. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to the United Way of Indian River County or the Salvation Army, organizations that align with Bob's values of community support and service.
