The Lyon County Sheriff's Office has identified human remains discovered in January 2025 in Fernley, Nevada, as those of Ronald John Littley, a resident who had been missing since September 2022. The remains were found in a wooded area near Farm District
Road and U.S. Highway 50A. Initial attempts to identify the remains using traditional methods were unsuccessful. However, through a collaborative effort involving the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner's Office, Wolf Pack DNA, and Bode Technology, investigators utilized genetic genealogy to confirm Littley's identity.
