What's Happening?
The Cleveland Monsters, in collaboration with the USA Hockey Level 5 Coaches Symposium, hosted a series of 'Try Hockey For Free' clinics aimed at engaging youth and adults in the sport. These clinics included various sessions such as Get Out and Learn, Try Goalie, and Referee sessions, providing over 100 participants with the opportunity to experience hockey in a new and interactive way. The initiative is part of the Monsters' efforts to promote hockey and increase participation at the grassroots level, offering a platform for individuals to learn and enjoy the sport.
Why It's Important?
This initiative by the Cleveland Monsters is significant as it fosters community engagement and promotes the sport of hockey among young people and adults who may not have had previous exposure. By offering free clinics, the Monsters are removing barriers to entry and encouraging a diverse group of participants to explore hockey. This can lead to increased interest and participation in the sport, potentially nurturing future talent and expanding the fan base. Such community-focused programs are essential for the growth and sustainability of hockey at the local and national levels.
