What's Happening?
The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) hosted the Apprentice Automation Challenge 2025, where teams of apprentices competed to design and build prototype devices that automate common products or processes. This year's challenge saw a record
participation of 17 teams, showcasing a variety of innovative products. The winning team, Elevation Nation from Niftylift, was awarded the opportunity to present their product at The Manufacturer MX Awards and Smart Manufacturing Week. The challenge emphasizes engineering skills, teamwork, and real-world application, providing valuable experience for young engineers.
