What's Happening?
Mikki Koskinen, a Finnish shipping executive, has been appointed as the new president of the European Community Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA), effective January 1, 2026. Koskinen, who has been the managing
director of ESL Shipping Oy since 2013, will succeed Karin Orsel, the first female president of ECSA. Koskinen has served as the vice-president of ECSA since 2024 and has a background in various leadership roles within the shipping industry, including serving on the board of the International Chamber of Shipping and as chairman of the Finnish Shipowners’ Association.
