What's Happening?
Fisher German, a property consultancy, has expanded its operations in Scotland by launching a new utilities and infrastructure team in Glasgow. This expansion is supported by the appointments of Peter
Critchon as an associate partner and Cass Hibbert as a senior associate. Critchon brings nearly a decade of experience in land agency and renewable energy projects, while Hibbert contributes over 20 years of expertise in telecoms and industrial projects. The team will focus on significant projects, including the Norwich to Tilbury Development Consent Order (DCO) for National Grid and initiatives to futureproof the National Gas Transmission pipeline network. The expansion aims to capitalize on opportunities in renewables and net-zero industries, contributing to Scotland's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2045.
Why It's Important?
The expansion of Fisher German's team in Glasgow is significant as it aligns with the growing demand for infrastructure development in the UK, particularly in the renewable energy sector. By focusing on projects like the National Grid's Norwich to Tilbury DCO, the consultancy is positioning itself to play a crucial role in the transition to sustainable energy solutions. This move not only supports the UK's environmental goals but also enhances Fisher German's capabilities in delivering large-scale infrastructure projects. The expansion is likely to create new job opportunities and stimulate economic growth in the region, while also contributing to the broader goal of reducing carbon emissions.
