What's Happening?
The Fort Wright Police Department is organizing free self-defense courses for women in April. These courses will be conducted over two sessions, each lasting three hours, and are open to women of all ages and backgrounds. The sessions are scheduled for April 22
and April 29, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the Kenton County Detention Center. Interested participants are encouraged to RSVP with Captain Robert Griffin to secure their spot in the program.
Why It's Important?
This initiative by the Fort Wright Police Department is crucial as it empowers women by providing them with the skills and confidence to protect themselves. In a broader context, such programs can contribute to community safety and awareness, potentially reducing crime rates and enhancing public trust in law enforcement. By offering these courses for free, the police department is making self-defense training accessible to a wider audience, promoting inclusivity and community engagement.
