What's Happening?
The U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) is expanding its airmanship program to provide all cadets with significant flight experience. The academy operates the largest glider program in the U.S., with over 15,000 flights annually, primarily managed by young
instructor pilots. The initiative aims to ensure that all cadets, approximately 4,000, gain real flight experience, either through glider flights or powered flight programs.
