What's Happening?
Thailand has entered into a contract with Airbus to supply the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) with two C295 aircraft configured for tactical transport. The announcement was made by Airbus Defence and Space, which stated that the first delivery is expected
in the first half of 2029. These aircraft will be operated by the RTAF's Wing 46 located in Phitsanulok, central Thailand. The C295 aircraft, known for its versatility, can carry up to 70 troops or 49 paratroopers and is capable of operating on unprepared runways. The aircraft will be assembled at Airbus Defence and Space facilities in Seville, Spain. This acquisition is part of Thailand's ongoing efforts to modernize its military capabilities.
