Between 2017 and 2022, 233,809 individuals died in traffic accidents in the U.S. The adjusted number of traffic fatalities on album release days was approximately 15% higher than on the ten days before and after, with an average of 139 deaths compared to 121. Music streaming generally increased by about 43% on these release days. The study, published in the journal 'Jama Network Open,' analyzed data from the Fatality Analysis Reporting System and Spotify streaming figures, focusing on the ten most-streamed albums within a single day during the period.
