Qantas has successfully completed a historic 19-hour test flight with its new Airbus A350-1000ULR aircraft, marking a significant milestone in long-haul travel. The aircraft landed in Melbourne, Australia, after departing from its manufacturing facility
in Toulouse, France. This test is part of Qantas's 'Project Sunrise,' which aims to launch the longest non-stop commercial flight in the world between Sydney and London by October 2027. The test flight was conducted by a team of four Airbus pilots and five engineers, who evaluated the aircraft's additional 20,000-litre fuel tank, enabling it to fly non-stop for 22 hours. The return flight to Toulouse is scheduled for July 27, 2026.
