Mario Thompson has been appointed as the Chief Sales Officer at the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board, effective September 30. Thompson brings over 20 years of sales leadership experience from Hilton Hotels and Resorts and Marriott International, having worked in major markets such as San Diego, Atlanta, Chicago, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and New York. Most recently, he served as Market Director of Sales & Marketing for the JW Marriott L.A. LIVE and The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles. In his new role, Thompson will lead the global sales and services strategy for Los Angeles Tourism, focusing on driving professional meetings, conventions, and major events to hotels and venues across the region, including the Los Angeles Convention Center Campus.
