A new electronic mapping tool has been introduced to track the migration of chimney swifts in Wisconsin. As part of the 'Swift Night Out' events, volunteers are encouraged to count the birds as they roost in chimneys. The tool, developed in partnership
with the American Bird Conservancy, allows participants to record sightings and conditions of roosting sites. This initiative aims to address the significant decline in chimney swift populations, which have decreased by over 72% in the past 50 years.
