Carol Herman Palfenier, a respected member of the Libertyville community, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, at the age of 91. He was surrounded by his family, including his wife of 67 years, Carol (Riner) Palfenier. A private burial is scheduled
for October 28 in Sterling, Kansas, followed by a public Celebration of Life service on November 15 at Green Oaks Senior Living in Libertyville, Illinois. The family has requested donations to Village Creek Bible Camp or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in lieu of flowers. Funeral arrangements are being handled by McMurrough Funeral Chapel.
