Albert Bernard, the first black police officer to serve 30 years with Thames Valley Police in Milton Keynes, has been honored with a lifetime achievement award at the Milton Keynes, Bucks, Beds & Northants Black Excellence Awards. The event, which took
place at Wilton Hall, celebrated individuals and organizations making significant contributions to the community. Bernard expressed pride in his career, highlighting the challenges and achievements of being a black officer in a predominantly white organization. The awards ceremony, attended by about 200 people, featured 12 categories, including Unsung Hero and Community Leader of the Year, aiming to inspire collaboration and progress in the region.
