What's Happening?
Lyrissa Lidsky, the Raymond & Miriam Ehrlich Eminent Scholar Chair in U.S. Constitutional Law at Florida Law, is making significant contributions to the field of constitutional law, particularly in the areas of Tort Law and the First Amendment. Her work
focuses on defamation and free speech issues, especially in the context of social media. Lidsky is currently co-reporting on the Restatement of Defamation and Privacy, a project that is underway. She has recently taken over as the author of 'Sack on Defamation' from Judge Robert Sack. Her scholarly contributions include authoring Media Law and First Amendment casebooks, a reference book on press freedom, and numerous articles. Her recent work, co-authored with Professor Christina Koningisor, titled 'First Amendment Disequilibrium,' was published in the Virginia Law Review. Lidsky's research has been recognized and cited by various state supreme courts, federal courts, and international courts in Canada and Hong Kong. Previously, she served as the Dean of the University of Missouri School of Law from 2017 to 2022, and was named Missouri Lawyers Media's 2020 Woman of the Year.
