Dr. Elise Kearns, an Associate Professor and Department Chair of Exercise Science at Asbury University, recently achieved national certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association
(NSCA). This certification is a significant milestone for Dr. Kearns and the university's growing Exercise Science program. Dr. Kearns brings extensive academic and clinical experience to her role, holding a Bachelor of Science in Health and Sport Studies from Miami University, a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis, and a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Kentucky. She also has 12 years of experience in pediatric physical therapy and has taught at both Asbury University and the University of Kentucky. Her research focuses on physical activity levels in elementary schools, implementation science, and the impact of physical activity on brain connectivity in children.
