What's Happening?
The New York State Thruway Authority (NYSTA) has introduced an interactive map that allows drivers, first responders, and travelers to report specific safety concerns along the Thruway. This initiative is part of the Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (CSAP),
which aims to enhance safety across the 570-mile Thruway system. Users can mark issues such as potholes or short entrance/exit ramps on the map, contributing to a database that will inform future safety strategies. The NYSTA is targeting 1,000 safety suggestions by April 17, 2026, to incorporate into the CSAP.
