Charlotte officials are preparing for extreme high temperatures and triple-digit heat indices expected in the coming days. The city, along with Mecklenburg County and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Emergency Management Office, is coordinating efforts to assist
vulnerable residents. Resources include the Roof Above’s Day Services Center for unsheltered individuals, open during specified hours, and the Relatives’ On Ramp program for young adults. Additionally, park and recreation centers, as well as Charlotte Mecklenburg Library locations, are open to provide relief from the heat. The Charlotte Area Transit System is offering rides on designated routes, and spraygrounds are available for public use.
