Petrobras and Vale have entered into a contract to supply diesel fuel for Vale's mining operations in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The agreement includes the provision of S10 diesel, which is produced by Petrobras and contains
a mandatory 15% biodiesel component. This partnership is part of a broader strategy to develop low-carbon business solutions, including the potential use of Diesel R, which contains renewable content, and Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO). Since 2023, Petrobras and Vale have been collaborating on initiatives aimed at reducing carbon emissions. In 2024, they established a cooperation agreement to test Diesel R5, which includes 5% renewable content in addition to the mandatory biodiesel, and bunker fuel with a 24% renewable component.
